Scientometric accounts:

Valentyn Lymar was born in 1963 in Chyhyryn. In 1986 he graduated from Physical department of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. During 1986—1989 he worked as an engineer at General phisycs chair of the Physical department of KhNU. Since 1989 he works as an assistant, and later as senior lecturer at the Physical optics chair of the Physical department. He works on dissertation entitled 'Self-organization of spontaneous gratings in thin photosensitive waveguide films under action of laser radiation'.

Scientific interests: nonlinear optics and theory of scattering/diffraction in planar waveguides; dissipative structures and self-organization processes in a system 'substance+field' near media interface under action of laser irradiation.

Teaching work:

  • For Bachelor's degree applicants gives lecture courses 'Techniques of Spectral Research', 'Interference, Diffraction of Light and Crystal Optics' and 'Quantum Electronics', and conducts laboratory workshop on spectral analysis.
  • For Master's degree applicants gives the lecture course 'Technics of Lasers', conducts laboratory workshop on laser physics and nonlinear optics and takes part in functioning of the general laboratory workshop for Master's degree applicants.
